When Volume 3, Part 1 of the great work, Seerat Khaatam an-Nabiyyeen, authored by Qamar-ul-Ambiya, Hadrat Sahibzadah Mirza Bashir Ahmad^ra was published, he noted the following about it:

I had, for some time, compiled and kept ready for forwarding a list of the topics to be treated in the remainder of Volume 3, which I am now submitting to the Daily Al-Fazl for publication. The three-point purpose of its publication is as follows:

• To serve as a continuing reminder for me to complete this book;
• To enable another person to complete this task along these suggested lines if, God forbid, I am not able to complete it within my lifespan, and in this way I may also share in its spiritual reward; and
• If someone has a useful suggestion regarding this list of topics, i.e. if a topic needs to be added, its sequence needs to be organized differently, or any other necessary suggestion, then such a person can inform me accordingly and also share in the spiritual reward of its authorship …

This announcement by Hadrat Sahibzadah Mirza Bashir Ahmad^ra was published in the Daily Al-Fazl, February 20, 1955, and he lived for a period of eight years after, but during this period no suggestion came forward regarding this list of topics. Later on, when work commenced on this list, it was deemed necessary, in view of some facts of history, to modify the sequence as well as add to this list of topics. Hadrat Qamar-ul-Ambiya^ra had completed up to the 6^th year Hijra of the life of the Holy Prophet^sa and the portion from the 7^th year Hijra up to the demise of the Holy Prophet^sa was yet to be written.

The tremendous influence of this book, and the extraordinary pleasure derived from reading it, spanning a period of some 60 years, was such that everyone who read it anxiously desired for the remainder to be completed. Thus, it was essential to have the remaining portion of the book completed in such a way that was essentially aligned with the tenor and purpose of the book authored by Hadrat Qamar-ul-Ambiya^ra. It is a fact that the last four or five years of the Holy Prophet^sa were of a unique and tremendous importance as, during this period, the epitome of his life and the mandate of his prophethood came to be realized and, it was during these years that the commandments of the Islamic Sharia were finalized. Thus, with the permission, encouragement, and prayers of Hadrat Khalīfatul Masih IV^rh, Prof. Hadi Ali Chaudhary sahib undertook to advance the narrative of the book of Hadrat Qamar-ul-Ambiya^ra.along the same lines as Hudūr^rh had suggested.

In this regard, the first principle adopted by Prof. Hadi Sahib is that wherever there is any article on seerat [i.e. any aspect of the life of the Holy Prophet ^sa] written by Hadrat Qamar-ul-Ambiya^ra., or an excerpt from any of his books, it has also been incorporated in this book, either verbatim if possible or with necessary modification or a summary of it. In other words, efforts have been made that this book too, should have a contribution from Hadrat Qamar-ul-Ambiya^ra.in it, to the extent possible. Similarly, in keeping with the style of Hadrat Qamar-ul-Ambiya^ra, excerpts from the writings of the Promised Messiah^as and those of his blessed Khulafā, where appropriate, and replies to the orientalists have also been included.

This valuable book is comprised of 862 pages, a comprehensive Table of Contents, and all references used. It comes in an attractive and durable binding and has been published this year, in July 2010, in the United Kingdom.

The task, which the author had begun by the grace of Allah the Exalted, with the permission, guidance, and prayers of Hadrat Khalīfatul Masih IV^rh, he was completed in the blessed and dynamic period of Khilāfat of Hadrat Khalīfatul Masih V^aa, in the year of Khilāfat Jubilee. We pray to Allah the Exalted, and request every reader to do the same, that may Allah grant acceptance of the author’s effort and because of this, He may cover him with His mercy and enable him to receive the love and intercession of the Holy Prophet^sa. Ameen!

On the occasion of Jalsa Salana, UK on July 31, 2010. Hadrat Khalīfatul Masih V^aa said:

“Hadi Ali Chaudhary sahib has completed the book, Seerat Khatam an-Nabiyyeen, which is a very important book. Hadrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad^ra had authored Volumes 1 and 2 of this book and had some notes on the basis of which he [Hadi Ali Chaudhary] has now expanded. It is a very good addition [to the Jamā`at literature].”
